The Wickford Art Festival is almost always held the weekend after the fourth of July. It is the oldest continuously running outdoor art show in the country. During the weekend of the festival 100’s of artists descend on Wickford and set up tents along Brown, Franklin, and Main street.
There is quite an eclectic selection of art, including everything form photography to sculpture to various forms of decorative objects. Another trademark of the festival are the strawberry shortcakes, sold by First Baptist Church. The small village has limited parking, so while there is sometimes parking to be found off of Main Street your best bet is usually just to park out a little ways around the Wickford Elementary School.
