The South County Hot Air Balloon Festival is a premier event in the Rhode Island summer time featuring as the name applies hot air balloons. However, while the hot air balloons are the feature of the event, there are also countless other activities, often including but not limited to balloon rides, kite flying, carnival rides, pony rides, a petting zoo, pig racing, magic shows, etc. Also the John Cafferty & the Beaver Brown Band, a Springsteen style rock band out of Narragansett, RI, has been performing at the festival for many years

They also often have a Revolutionary war encampment with reenactors and a free catch and release trout pond for the children. One of the main highlights of the event is the balloon glow at dusk usually followed by fireworks.
