The Campbell’s Tennis Championships occur in Newport every July, just after Wimbledon. Although, Wimbledon is a much more well known Grand Slam tournament and this one in Newport is only an ATP World Tour 250, it is still fairly significant; especially when you consider the fact that they are playing right at the hall of fame site. So, if for nothing else, it is important for the hall of fame induction ceremony. The induction ceremony usually occurs towards the end of the tournament, so that it falls on the weekend. Induction to the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, RI is the highest honor available in tennis, and is, like in any other sport, an important validation of a successful career.
